Feline Lymphosarcoma
Feline lymphosarcoma is a form of cancer that involves lymphoid tissues, which are part of the lymphatic and immune systems. These tissues are found in areas such as the lymph nodes, gastrointestinal tract, chest cavity, spleen, and bone marrow.
In cats, lymphosarcoma may be associated with variable clinical signs depending on the tissues involved. Observations can include changes in appetite or weight, altered energy levels, digestive disturbances, breathing changes, or painless enlargement of lymph nodes.
The lymphatic system plays a role in immune surveillance and fluid balance, so disruption to this system can affect multiple body functions. Presentation and progression can differ widely between individual cats.
Assessment and management of feline lymphosarcoma are guided by veterinary examination and diagnostic testing, with care plans tailored to the individual cat.
