Healthy ears are essential for comfort, balance, and hearing in pets. Regular ear care helps prevent infections, inflammation, wax buildup, mites, and secondary complications.
Pets with floppy ears, allergies, frequent swimming, or underlying skin conditions are at higher risk of ear problems.
Signs of ear issues include head shaking, scratching, redness, discharge, odor, swelling, or sensitivity to touch.
Routine ear checks, gentle cleaning when needed, and keeping ears dry support a healthy ear environment. Avoid inserting objects deep into the ear canal, as this can cause injury.
Persistent symptoms require veterinary assessment to identify infections, parasites, foreign bodies, or allergic causes and to prevent chronic ear disease and hearing loss.
