Travel & Motion Support – Natural Balance for Animals

Supporting Comfort During Travel

Animals, like humans, can sometimes experience unease during travel. Whether it’s a horse during equine floating, a dog or cat in the car, or a companion joining their family on a plane trip, motion can create signs of discomfort such as restlessness, drooling, or general unease.

Educational Notes – Traditional Associations

  • Balance & Calmness – Folk traditions often valued certain plants and minerals for promoting calmness and grounding during movement.

  • Digestive Harmony – Some traditional remedies have been linked with easing queasiness and helping the body adapt to motion.

  • Adaptability – Long valued in holistic knowledge, certain natural supports were considered useful in helping animals adjust to environmental or situational changes, including travel.

Ways This Program May Be Considered

  • Equine Floating – Horses may show signs of nervousness or digestive upset during transport. Traditional supports are associated with maintaining calmness and resilience.

  • Car Sickness in Dogs & Cats – Pets may become unsettled on car trips. Traditional remedies were historically used for queasiness, restlessness, or drooling.

  • Air Travel – Extended journeys in planes can be stressful for animals. Traditional preparations have been linked with supporting calmness, balance, and adaptability in such circumstances.

Supportive Formulas

A tailored set of natural, plant- and mineral-based blends may be considered, traditionally associated with:

  • Promoting calmness and steadiness

  • Supporting digestive comfort during motion

  • Helping the body adapt to changing environments and stresses

  • Encouraging overall wellbeing throughout the journey

Flying in an Aircraft - plane trips
Pets are cramped up in the luggage area under the belly of plane, which also lack of oxygen, is very cold, and very loud noise when plane is taking off and landing.

Educational Information

Natural Relaxants for Travel Preparation

When preparing animals for long journeys such as air travel, car trips, or equine floating, gentle natural supports may help maintain calmness, comfort, and resilience. Starting these additions to meals two to three weeks before the trip can assist in setting a foundation of balance.

Nutritional Supports Traditionally Valued for Calmness

Magnesium – Known as a relaxation mineral, magnesium has long been associated with muscle ease and nervous system balance. Options such as magnesium glycinate powder or liquid magnesium can be added in small amounts to meals or goat’s milk daily, with larger pets often requiring slightly more.

B Complex – Traditionally linked with stress reduction and resilience. Bee pollen granules are a natural source of B vitamins and have been used in folk knowledge to support vitality. A few grains may be added for small pets, while larger dogs and horses may take larger amounts mixed into daily meals.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine, P5P form) – In nutritional traditions, Vitamin B6 is connected with supporting the nervous system and has been explored in modern research for its association with queasiness, calmness, and nervous balance. Powder from capsules may be sprinkled in small amounts into meals in the weeks leading up to travel.

Gentle Bodywork for Calming – TTouch®

Alongside nutritional support, gentle bodywork can help animals adapt to change. The Tellington TTouch® method, developed by Linda Tellington-Jones, uses light, mindful touch and circular movements to encourage relaxation, build trust, and stimulate new neurological pathways. This approach has been used across species to:

  • Support calmness and trust during stressful changes

  • Help modify restlessness and unease

  • Encourage natural balance and healing

Pet owners may practice TTouch at home, or seek out a practitioner for guidance. Instructional resources and demonstrations are widely available online:

Seems to help with my girls anxiety whist travelling , but haven't had a long trip yet to gauge the full effect.

  • I am very satisfied with these formulas .

Posted by BO KYUNG CHA on 26th Feb 2016 (Verified Customer)

These two formulas were greatly helpful when my dog had traveled with me back and forth from far Fast to the very West with me. It was the first experience for my dog to get on the plane for long hours. And there had been lots of car trips and cruise trip as well. I always had these remedies in my bag and applied it on my dog whenever we were on the move. My dog were calm most of time and slept. I am very satisfied with these formulas .

  • We have used this for our two cats

Posted by Cheryl Davies on 7th Jan 2015 (Verified Customer)

We have used this for our two cats on two separate occasions when we've had to move from the UK to Canada, and then from Canada to the UK, and they flew in-cabin with us on the plane. We have used it once for our dog. It's very hard to say how our animals felt in themselves but what I can say is that the cats were completely quiet for the whole flight both times and the cabin crew commented both times that they had no idea cats were with us, that usually cats yowl during a flight, etc. They were definitely nervous and stressed, which was obvious as they both curled up at the very back of their carrier for nearly the whole time. But it may have taken at least some of the edge off. Our dog, on the other hand, was anxious and restless for almost the whole flight. She is very sensitive in general, especially to noise, so I'm not sure this had any effect on her. Again, it may have helped, it's just hard to tell. Saying this, I will use it again and have recommended it to others. I'm disheartened that there's not something stronger to give animals for in-cabin flight travel as it's really unfair for them to be so stressed when travel can't be avoided (due to relocation). I would prefer it if there was a proper sedative available to relax them.
