SET OF 4

SubQ using plain saline solution of fluids given just under the skin - is not IV or muscular.

1.  One (1) litre Bag of Hartman's Plain Saline Solution.
2.  (2 to 4) x  Syringes 50ml or 40ml
3.  12  x  Small "21" gauge Butterfly needles.
4.  1  x  large plain needle (transferring fluid to syringes)

*This does NOT include a Hand Held Digital Thermometer used for measuring - checking right temp before giving to pet.

For instructions please watch this video below.

This is very different to giving fluids "via the vein"  (called IV fluids - intraveneous fluids).

Your Vet or we can supply with a Subcutaneous fluid kit:

1.    (1)  One  x  (DEHP-Free Bag) 1 litre Bag of Hartman's plain fluid saline solution.
In the USA they call it "Ringer's Lactate" solution

~ The Ringer's lactate solution, also known as sodium lactate solution and Hartmann's solution, is a mixture of sodium chloride, sodium lactate, potassium chloride, and calcium chloride in water.  It is used for replacing fluids and electrolytes in those who have low blood volume or low blood pressure, and assisting kidneys.

Can Refrigerate Bag of fluids when not using anymore.  If still using, do not put in fridge.

2.    (2 )  x   50ml syringes
Example:  giving 80ml of plain saline fluids to a feline or toy dog
OR  giving 100ml of fluids for small to med dog.
OR  giving  200ml or more of fluids for med to larger dog.

3.   (12)  x  Very small "21" Gauge Butterfly Needles.
Are easy to just gently slip under the skin (when you pinch up the loose skin)
Will last 2 to 3 weeks depending if using daily  Example:  for acute renal conditions, last stage and needing to use daily or even second day   or   only three times a week for chronic cases.

4.  (1)   x  large plain needle
(used for drawing out the fluids from 1 litre bag into the 50ml syringes)

PLEASE NOTE:

Before giving the fluids (each session) it is very important to warm fluids to "Blood body temperature" of you pets - which is around  37.7C  to 39.1C  "Celsius"  =  99.6 F  to 102.2 Fahrenheit

So we must warm the fluids to around as close to the body temperature for it to make them feel good and relax with benefits.  They are slightly warmer than human body temperature.

Cold or room temp fluids will make your pet worse.

* Highly recommend using a "Digital Infrared thermometer hand held device" to gauge temp of warmed up solution) helps tremendously. We have some available if you request this hand held device to be added to your order.

  • always have this product on hand

I believe one should always have this product on hand. I do think it has helped save my one cat. She went into a deep depression after her sister died and this definitely helped her to fight her way back and gain her strenght.

  • I wish I had done this years ago! Brilliant results.

    Oh my goodness!

I can't begin to tell you how nervous I was about giving my 10 year old cat Samson fluids subcutaneously.

He has chronic constipation issues and had gotten terribly skinny and out of sorts. Samson is a very sensitive soul and I didn't know how he would react to me piercing his skin with a needle. I know that I am skittish towards needles! It took me a couple of days to gather up the nerve to give Samson the fluids .

I re-read the well detailed instructions over and over again and even looked up a video on the procedure. I needn't have worried at all. Samson was brilliant! Me too for that matter! Very easy to administer, the needle went through like butter and my fears about Samson bolting away were dismissed because the moment the fluid ( which I had warmed up beforehand) started to trickle under his skin he started to purr loudly. He continued to purr right through to the last drop. The results were instant. Gone was the lethargy as Samson got up, circled me a few times while headbutting and smooching as if he was thanking me. Straight away his eyes looked brighter and alert .

I continued the treatment for a week and noticed Samson didn't look so scrawny.

It helped his constipation issue for a little while. Now that I'm an "expert" I will continue giving Samson the sub q fluids from time to time when needed. This treatment is well worth exploring and I strongly recommend it to anyone to try.

I wish I had done this years ago! Brilliant results.

  • This is a must have

I think every pet owner needs to have these fluids at hand in case of emergencies. With both my dogs ill with gastroenteritis at the same time I was able to keep them hydrated when they couldn't keep any water down without vomiting it up right away.

  • Cannot recommend this highly enough

Posted by Dr. Claire McColl on 2nd Sep 2013 (Verified Customer)

Cannot recommend this highly enough - I use this in combination with kidney remedies to help flush toxins out. My lab cross Jack actually looks forward to to having this and wags his tail and has a bark in the garden afterwards.
