Educational Overview
Pyometra – Uterus Health in Pets
Pyometra is a serious, life-threatening uterine infection that occurs in unspayed female pets, most commonly dogs and less frequently cats. It develops when hormonal changes after a heat cycle cause the uterine lining to thicken, allowing bacteria to multiply and pus to accumulate.
Common Signs:
- Lethargy and weakness
- Loss of appetite
- Increased thirst and urination
- Vomiting or diarrhoea
- Abdominal swelling or discomfort
- Vaginal discharge (open pyometra)
- Fever or collapse (closed pyometra may show no discharge)
Types of Pyometra:
- Open pyometra – cervix is open, allowing discharge
- Closed pyometra – cervix is closed; infection is trapped and more dangerous
Risk Factors:
- Not being desexed (entire females)
- Recent heat cycle (usually 2–8 weeks after)
- Repeated hormonal stimulation
- Ageing uterus (middle-aged to senior pets)

Uterine and Reproductive Balance Support Set
A carefully prepared set of natural formulas traditionally associated with supporting balance in the female reproductive system. This set is designed to encourage comfort, resilience, and overall well being, particularly in cases where uterine health may need extra support. It can be used alongside professional veterinary care to promote harmony and recovery.
Vitamin C and Sepsis – Research Insights
Sepsis is a serious health challenge that arises when the body’s immune response becomes over-activated, leading to stress on organs and tissues. This condition can progress rapidly, and when it advances to septic shock, multiple organs may begin to fail.
Recent scientific interest has explored the potential role of high-dose vitamin C in supporting patients experiencing sepsis. At the Florey Institute, Professor Rinaldo Bellomo and his team observed remarkable changes when sodium ascorbate (a natural form of vitamin C) was given in large amounts to a critically ill patient. Within a short time, markers such as blood pressure regulation, oxygen levels, and kidney function improved. The patient’s temperature also stabilised.
According to the report, after 12 days of sodium ascorbate support, the patient was able to be removed from assisted ventilation. Within 22 days, they were discharged from hospital with no noted complications. These observations were published as part of a broader study examining vitamin C’s role in critical illness.

Natural Antibiotics Vs Synthetic Antibiotics
Synthetic antibiotics goal is to kill the bug. However, our goal is to enhance the immune system to become resistant to ALL bugs.
Supportive & Preventative Uterus Health Care
- Immune and detox support post-recovery
- Anti-inflammatory and organ support during healing
- Hormonal balance support
- Probiotics to restore gut flora after antibiotics
Prevention:
- Early spaying is the most effective prevention
- Regular monitoring of intact females after heat cycles
- Prompt veterinary attention to any post-heat behavioural or physical changes
Supporting uterine health and early intervention can be life-saving for female pets.
Natural pet botanicals are not intended to replace veterinary care or medication. Our formulas are offered as an alternative health support for your animal's condition and not as a cure.
