Overgrowth or Mold Support – Valley Fever, Leishmania, Cryptococcus, Aspergillus spp. (Aspergillosis)
Certain fungal and protozoal organisms can cause significant illness in animals when they overgrow or enter the body through inhalation, wounds, or insect vectors.
Conditions such.... as Valley Fever, Leishmania, Cryptococcus, and Aspergillosis affect different body systems and often require prompt veterinary evaluation.

SET OF
Educational Purposes
Fungal, Protozoal & Microbial Challenges in Animals
Certain organisms such as fungi, molds, and protozoa may become more active within the body when the immune system is under strain. In some cases, this can contribute to ongoing inflammatory or systemic stress in both humans and animals.
Selected Conditions
Valley Fever (Coccidioidomycosis)
A fungal condition caused by inhaling spores from soil-dwelling organisms (Coccidioides species). It may initially affect the respiratory system and, in some cases, involve other tissues. Signs can include coughing, fatigue, fever, or lameness. Veterinary evaluation is essential for diagnosis and management.
Leishmania
A protozoan parasite transmitted by sandflies, most commonly affecting dogs. It has been associated with skin changes, weight loss, lymph node enlargement, anemia, and organ strain. Disease progression varies between individuals and requires veterinary oversight.
Cryptococcus
A yeast-like fungus found in certain soil environments, sometimes linked to nasal, respiratory, or neurological signs, particularly in cats. Presentation may include nasal discharge, facial swelling, or neurological changes.
Aspergillus (Aspergillosis)
A mold associated with respiratory sensitivity in dogs, horses, and birds. Signs may include nasal discharge or nosebleeds, particularly in animals experiencing immune or environmental stress.
