Oral health play a major role in an animal’s comfort and overall well‑being. Conditions such as ulcers, gingivitis, cavities, plaque buildup, and gum inflammation can develop when bacteria, irritation, or underlying illness affect the mouth or skin.

Vitamin C deficiency has been associated with weakened gum tissue and increased susceptibility to periodontal (gum) disease in animals.


Vitamin C plays a role in collagen production, immune defence, and tissue repair, all of which are important for maintaining healthy gums and oral structures.

While gum disease in pets is usually multifactorial — involving plaque, bacteria, diet, immune health, and genetics — adequate Vitamin C intake may support gum strength and oral resilience, particularly in animals under stress, illness, or increased inflammatory load.

In traditional knowledge, Calendula is associated with supporting gum resilience, easing localised irritation, and promoting overall oral comfort, particularly where sensitivity or inflammation may be present. It has also been valued for its role in supporting general skin wellness and tissue recovery following minor wounds or areas of strain.

Traditional and observational reports have noted Calendula’s association with supporting the body’s natural restorative processes, particularly in cases where tissue recovery appears slow or delicate.

Guaiacum resin, another traditionally used botanical, has been historically associated with supporting oral comfort and soothing sensitive tissues, including use in traditional approaches to maintaining balance in the mouth and gum areas.

Together, these botanicals are traditionally referenced for supporting both skin and oral tissue comfort, contributing to a broader approach to natural wellness and balance.
