Marek's Disease
Marek’s Disease is a highly contagious viral condition in poultry caused by a herpesvirus.
It affects nerves, organs, skin, and the immune system, making early recognition essential for flock health.
Common Signs
- Progressive leg or wing paralysis
- One leg stretched forward and one backward (“classic Marek’s stance”)
- Weight loss or reduced appetite
- Vision changes, grey or irregular pupils
- Tumours in organs causing general decline
- Drooping wings or difficulty standing
- Sudden death in severe or acute forms
