Herbal Medicinal Uses
Cordyceps - offers properties of immune enhancement and stress resistance. It protects mitochondria and is anti-fatigue. In laboratory studies, cordyceps was found to reduce heart muscle oxygen consumption and improve aerobic activity. In traditional herbal medicine, it is often used as a kidney tonic. Cordyceps specifically stimulates NK cells and macrophage activity and also enhances cellular immunity. At the same time, it decreases inflammatory cytokine cascades and therefore decreases tissue damage. Use also for Epstein Barr Virus infections.
Cryptolepsis - (e.coli, microbial for Nocardia bacterial infection, systemic infection, renal vasodilator),
Andrographis - (pyelonephritis).

Rehmannia- health benefits include strengthening the kidneys, strengthening the adrenal glands, and tonifying the blood. In Traditional Chinese Theory, kidney failure and kidney meridian dysfunction are a direct result of an imbalance of yin and yang. Rehmannia helps balance the yin, and yang with its cooling herbs that nourish and tonify the kidney and it’s yin (fluids), bringing the kidney back to its best functioning condition.
Goldenseal - Goldenseal has been shown in the research to be both antibiotic and antiviral. It is possible that berberine (a major component of goldenseal) also kills a wide range of other types of germs in test tubes, such as those that cause candida (yeast) infections and parasites such as tapeworms and Giardia. Berberine may also activate white blood cells, making them better at fighting infection and strengthening the immune system.
Uva Ursi - contains a compound called arbutin, a glycosylated hydroquinone, which has the ability to drain excess water from cells, promoting an antiseptic effect on the kidneys. During its excretion, arbutin produces an antiseptic effect on the urinary mucous membrane and can therefore help assist with the urinary tract infections. Despite the presence of several acids in its makeup, uva ursi helps to keep the pH balance of urine from being too acidic. It actually strengthens the lining of the urinary tract and helps to ease any inflammation in the system. It has a direct sedative effect on the bladder walls. For chronic inflammation of the bladder or kidneys, uva ursi has no equal. Two studies report that urine from individuals given uva ursi is active against the most commonly involved microorganisms in bladder and urinary tract ailments.
