Feline or Canine Hyperaesthesia Syndrome
Hyperaesthesia syndrome refers to a condition in which animals show heightened sensitivity of the skin and nervous system, often presenting as twitching, rippling of the skin, sudden reactivity, over-grooming, vocalisation, or episodes of agitation.
The exact cause is not fully understood and may involve a combination of neurological sensitivity, sensory processing changes, stress, or underlying medical factors. Episodes can be intermittent and may be influenced by environmental or emotional stressors.
