Educational Overview
Laxative Use in Pets
Laxatives drugs are used to assist bowel movement only in cases of constipation, where stools are hard, dry, or difficult to pass.
They are not intended for routine digestive support or long-term use.
In many cases, bowel regularity may be supported through hydration, magnesium deficiencies, digestive support, and gut-friendly management before laxatives drugs are considered.
Veterinary guidance is recommended if constipation is persistent or recurrent.
