Dry FIP in Cats
Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a serious viral-related condition caused by a mutated feline coronavirus.
The dry (non-effusive) form does not typically produce fluid buildup, but instead leads to inflammatory lesions in organs such as the liver, kidneys, intestines, eyes, or nervous system.
Dry FIP can be slow-developing, and signs may vary depending on which organs are affected. Common observations can include weight loss, fever that does not respond to antibiotics, lethargy, reduced appetite, neurological changes, eye inflammation, or gradual decline in overall condition.
