In canines reduce the amount of protein (meat) as it raises blood sugars and high blood sugar has an effect on eye health i.e Cataracts.
3 x weekly meat with cooked vegetables.
Fruits feed separately to meat meals.
Then just meals of vegetables other nights. Snacks of fruit (non-citrus, no sultanas). The sugar in fruit is pure form and has no issues in raising blood sugars, as we all need to have some sugars for energy and brain function.
