Equine Health Context - EHV-1
Equine Herpesvirus 1 (EHV-1), also known as rhinopneumonitis, is a contagious virus that can affect horses worldwide. It may present with respiratory signs and, in some cases, involvement of the central nervous system (CNS). This neurological form can be associated with inflammation, reduced blood flow (thrombosis), and myelopathy, which is the result of compression or damage to the spinal cord and nerve roots.
