Cramping -Spasms (CRAMPO-SPAS 267-C formula) e.g Tying-Up in Equines , Muscle jerks in Canines
A carefully selected blend of natural, plant and mineral ingredients, traditionally known for supporting the immune system and spasms or cramping in muscles.
Equines
Physiologically "tying-up" (or Azoturia) is a situation where acid builds up in the muscles during work, faster than the kidneys are able to clear it out and the muscles go into spasm. Many muscles therefore end up pulling against each other and you notice the characteristic stiffness and soreness.
However, through experience and research we found the minerals and potassium and magnesium are the main minerals to concentrate on providing.
What causes an electrolyte imbalance?
The things that most commonly cause an electrolyte imbalance are:
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- not drinking enough fluids or loss of vital fluids (drained from body)
- certain medications, such as laxatives and diuretics
- liver or kidney problems
- congestive heart failure
- weeing alot
- Working or competition horses, loss of electrolytes through sweating.
The MOST Important Electrolyte, alongside Magnesium Is Potassium

Canines
Muscle spasms in dogs can be distressing for pet owners, raising concerns about their canines’ well-being.
Similar to humans, dogs can experience involuntary contractions of muscles, commonly known as spasms or cramps. These can range from mild twitches to more intense, prolonged spasms.
These movements make it seem like your dog is tweaking, with the affected parts assuming a life of their own. Witnessing muscle jerks in your beloved pet elicits a mix of concern and curiosity.
The movements can result from over-exertion, electrolyte imbalances, dehydration, trauma, and more that we’ll discuss soon.
Other concerns for Spasms or Cramping can be seen with ...Post-Distemper TICS in Canines,General TIC. Stomach pain, Angina (tight chest pain) Coronary Artery Spasm –heart issues – hypertension.
As a dog trainer, w have also seen many working breeds work to the point of dehydration and near-collapse, and this extreme exercise can disrupt the electrolytes in their body so much, it causes cramping muscles.
Heat Cramps
Heat cramps, also known as stoker's cramps and fireman's cramps, are painful involuntary contractions of large voluntary muscles of the arms, legs, and trunk. They appear in men who work in hot, humid places, lose much water by copious sweating (normal response of the body to the environment) and drink water to replace that lost in perspiration. These patients are NOT dehydrated but have electrolyte deficiency. Oral fluids and electrolyte replacement will be sufficient.

Heat Exhaustion
This is an abnormal condition marked by weakness, dizziness, nausea, muscle cramps, and fainting. It is caused by low levels of body fluid and salts resulting from exposure to intense heat or the inability to adjust to the heat. Body temperature is near normal; blood pressure may drop but usually returns to normal as the person is placed in a lying-down position; the skin is cool, damp, and pale. The patient IS dehydrated. The person usually recovers with rest and replacement of water and salt. * Also see Heat Exhausto 178 formula
Heat Stroke
A severe and sometimes fatal condition that results from the failure of the body to regulate its temperature. This is caused by prolonged exposure to the sun or too high temperatures. Lessening or lack of sweating (or panting for canines) is an early symptom. The body temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, fast pulse rate, hot and dry skin, headache, confusion, blackouts, and convulsions may occur. The patient may have fluid and body sodium depletion as seen in classic heat exhaustion.
