Sudden paralysis and pain in a cat's front leg can be a sign of aortic thromboembolism (ATE), also known as saddle thrombus.   Sometimes, a front leg is involved.       

Dogs
The most common clinical signs of aortic thromboembolism are sudden paralysis and pain, usually in the rear legs, although weakness and lameness may be seen.
